Agape is seeking a Clinical Therapist to deliver direct clinical and counseling services to a variety of clientele.
Must be able to clinically assess and diagnose mental health disorders, identify individual and family needs/issues related to problems in living, and determine and deliver appropriate treatment/interventions. In addition to counseling services, will be able to provide consultative, preventive, developmental and supportive services to youth and families.
The preparation and presentation of workshops and psychoeducational classes for professional and non-professional groups.
Collaboratively develop treatment plans, goals, and objectives with clients. Will assess the efficacy of services and refine services as indicated. Document all case-related interactions, activities, and services.
Act as a resource, consultant, and service coordinator for other persons and systems involved in client care, such as parents, teachers, church ministry leaders, etc
Prepare needed reports, treatment authorization requests, and case summaries.
Work in multiple site-based settings, i.e., different schools, communities, apartment complexes, etc. Therefore, travel may be required. Thus, this staff must have access to an automobile for business use, maintain a valid drivers license, and maintain the appropriate levels of automobile insurance. A flexible schedule is required, with occasional weekend and evening hours necessary.
Provide appropriate 24-hour emergency coverage for client crisis, consistent with legal and ethical requirements.
Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and approved and planned relevant workshops, seminars, and training events.
Participate in other agency functions, i.e., annual HeartLight event, etc.
Uphold the ethical guidelines of the helping professions, i.e., psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, etc., while being centered by the spiritual guidelines of the Bible.
Perform all other duties within the scope of this position, as requested by the the immediate supervisor or any member of the Agape Leadership Team.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
Prolonged walking and standing, and climbing stairs within churches, schools, and community sites.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
Qualifications
Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree within clinical discipline, i.e., psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc., or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Also, licensure in this field in the state(s) clinically practicing is highly preferred. Preference will be given to licensure recognized by third-party payers and to certification as a school counselor. Proven experience required; 3-5 years. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Prefer an effective speaker to present on issues related to this field. Demonstrated computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Will be required to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed. Must have an automobile available for business use and maintain a current drivers license and current auto insurance with acceptable levels of coverage.
