Bison Coffeehouse
Take some time to visit Portland’s first Native-owned coffee shop, Bison Coffeehouse. Loretta Guzman, the owner, states, “Nobody gives you fine-tuned training about coffee and the industry as a whole, especially if you don’t have their ’look,’ so I took what I liked from the coffee industry and left what I didn’t.” Guzman was determined to incorporate her Indigenous culture and identity into Bison Coffeehouse.
Mercado: A Taste of Latin American Culture
Dive into the vibrant flavors and rich culture at Mercado, Portland’s beloved social enterprise and Latin American food hub. Savor delicious dishes from a variety of food vendors, each offering unique and authentic culinary delights. Beyond the incredible food, Mercado is a testament to the power of community-driven economic development, providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs to thrive.
Oregon Black Pioneers
Explore the impactful tours and virtual exhibits with the Oregon Black Pioneers, who celebrate the contributions of Black Oregonians throughout history.
