How do we reimagine organizational diversity efforts in a post-Covid era?
Two seasoned diversity professionals share insights from their diversity playbook that will help current diversity professionals and organizational leaders examine their current efforts. In this interactive session, participants will have an opportunity to rehearse the diversity related events of the last two years and begin planning for the next two years.
Session leaders, will introduce the why, what, how, and when of leading diversity efforts. In small groups, participants will have an opportunity to engage with others in a collaborative effort to strategize future diversity efforts. Special attention will be given to the critical need for diversity professionals to practice self-care; and for organizations to retain diversity professionals through professional development and support.
Rev. Michelle D. Williams, MTS, CDE, is a writer, speaker, entrepreneur & seeker of the imago Dei within all created things. For over 20 years Michelle has worked with people during some of the most formative and stressful seasons of life. Beginning as a social worker with at-risk populations; serving as a pastor walking through life’s transitions; working as an advisor/mentor to undergraduate college students; navigating tumultuous racial/cultural conflicts; and most recently as a Dean at a graduate seminary. She is a Certified Diversity Executive (certified by the Society for Diversity) and CEO of Shalom Consultants.
Michelle R. Loyd-Paige, PhD is the Executive Associate to the President for Diversity and Inclusion at Calvin University. As the executive associate, Michelle provides strategic leadership for the college’s work on diversity and inclusion resulting in deep, pervasive, and meaningful change in the colleges understanding and practice of diversity and inclusion. She is a certified Level 1 Cultural Intelligence Facilitator (certified by the Cultural Intelligence Center), as well as a trained anti-racism facilitator and a racial sobriety workshop leader. Dr. Loyd-Paige is the founder of Loyd Paige & Associates, providing diversity and wellness coaching services.
