Election season is in full swing, and the final day of voting is on Tuesday, November 5th, less than one week away. CCDA is passionate about pursuing justice, and one way that we can do justice is by engaging civically. This includes voting.
During this important time, there can be a lot of confusion, misinformation, and disinformation out there, so we want to equip you with the information that you need to engage during this election season.
1. Check Your Registration and Register to Vote
Voting registration deadlines vary by state, and some states allow same-day voter registration. If you live in one of those states and aren’t yet registered, be sure that you do so. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to exercise this important right.

2. Learn What’s on Your Ballot
Voting is about more than the candidates at the federal level. Local offices and ballot measures can have a significant impact on your community.
Sites like Vote411 can help you see a sample ballot along with candidates’ positions so you can make an informed decision before you cast your vote.
3. Make a Plan to Vote
Whether it’s your first time voting or you’re a seasoned voter, be sure that you make a plan to vote. Set aside time on your calendar to go to your polling place. Research your state’s laws around apparel and what you can post on social media to ensure that you aren’t turned away.
Voting is one way that we can raise our voices and advocate for our neighbors. Let’s prayerfully do our research and cast our votes this election season.
Join CCDA for A Call to Prayer
Join us for a time of worship, lament, and intercession for our communities and newly elected federal, state, and local leaders. We are holding a lot this election season, and we hope this time of prayer with our association will be a powerful time of solidarity and renewed hope. We’re excited to be led in worship by Common Hymnal.
Join us on November 6 at 12 pm CT to pray alongside like-minded friends! RSVP at ccda.org/prayer.
