Wednesday, April 17th was the Evangelical Day of Prayer and Action for Immigration Reform. Hundreds of people gathered in Washington for a morning of worship and prayer.
“We prayed, worshipped and advocated together for laws that would more closely reflect God’s heart of justice and compassion toward immigrants.”
The afternoon was spent visiting legislators and asking them to vote for the recently introduced bipartisan Senate bill that would overhaul our nation’s broken immigration system. It was an historical day for our nation and for the undocumented immigrants in our country. We prayed, worshipped and advocated together for laws that would more closely reflect God’s heart of justice and compassion toward immigrants. In the days ahead, we must continue to pray, for prayer is the undergirding of the work we will do as advocates who give feet to those prayers by calling our nation’s leaders to consider God’s view on the matter.
