This year, we are thrilled to host the CCDA National Conference in Cincinnati. In a world where divisions seem to grow wider every day, the Cincinnati community stands as a shining example of how bridges can bring people together, fostering a sense of place, belonging, and neighborliness. This year, we have the opportunity to learn deeply from local practitioners who are truly embracing God’s heart for the margins in their city.
1. Local Speakers: Embracing Truth & Joy
One of the most captivating aspects of CCDA’s National Conference is the opportunity to learn from local speakers who have dedicated themselves to CCD work in their community. We love seeing the philosophy contextualized in different neighborhoods, which fosters opportunities for learning, imagining, and renewed vision. Check out Chuck Mingo & Alvin Sanders’ videos below about some of what they will talk about at the Conference:
2. Local Workshop Presenters: Getting Practical
Several of the workshops featured at CCDA’s National Conference will be led by local practitioners, providing an immersive learning experience that goes beyond theory. You get to learn from practitioners like you; people who deeply understand what it means to listen to the community, to love their neighbors, and to work toward systemic change. Courtney Walton and Abe Brandyberry’s videos below highlight some of the practical aspects of CCD work they are hoping to share about:
3. Opportunities to Visit Local Ministries: Loving their Neighbors
As part of CCDA’s National Conference, attendees will have the unique opportunity to participate in organized visits to local ministries or Go & Sees. These wonderful CCDA organizations are opening their doors for us to learn from their models and best practices of loving their neighborhoods. These visits will provide a firsthand look into how these practitioners have discerned where Christ is already at work in their community and what partnership with their neighbors has looked like to create long-term change.
Cincinnati is a strong community with a sense of place, belonging, and neighborliness. Here, people embrace where they live and care about their neighbors. They have much to teach us about what it means to be together and to be in unity.
Join us October 4-7th as we learn together how to:
- Embrace love
- Embrace truth
- Embrace righteousness (right living)
- Embrace peace (whole living)
