Description
Jess and Lowell will facilitate a conversation about the relationship between white Christian culture and racial justice. Few white Christians practice what we preach relative to racial justice because we are disincentivized by white Christian culture– behaviors, beliefs, and values. Racial justice has a cost to our personal lives and the institutions that hold up white culture in which we are leaders. This work takes prophetic imagination and learning from some of the radical work that has changed individuals and institutions. We will draw on learnings from Howard Thurman, Martin Luther King Jr., social science data, and personal experience. Speakers: Jess Bielman, Lowell Taylor
