Description
How does a CCD-based ministry coming from outside of a neighborhood patiently and effectively practice identifying and walking with existing resident leaders? What does that approach look like from the lens of actual long-time residents of a neglected community? This workshop will examine how a CCD approach has transformed the lives and outlook of residents and an organizational leader who once had a “me and mine” and “protect my fortress” mentality towards hearts that love their place, neighbors, and engagement on the margins. Through peer interaction and the opportunity to evaluate personal perspectives concerning neighborhoods on the margins this workshop will bring practical application to the 8 CCD principles. Facilitators will share in storytelling about a local resident engagement movement that activates dignifying redistribution, helps identify and develop resident leaders, and partner in neighborhood flourishing. Speakers: Dr. Vatreisha Nyemba, Luis Luna, Yomarie Gonzalez
