Description
Rev. Christine Youn Hung is a pastor, writer, and speaker who serves as Assistant District Superintendent for the Northern California District Church of the Nazarene. Prior to district leadership, she served as a campus pastor at Trinity Church in Rowland Heights, a multi-site, multi-ethnic congregation in the Los Angeles area, and earlier as a missionary teacher in Taipei, Taiwan. She is a frequent speaker for conferences, retreats, workshops, college campuses, and pastor training gatherings.
Christine is the founder of the NOW Movement, a grassroots initiative within the Church of the Nazarene that gathers women and men committed to racial justice, reconciliation, and the pursuit of beloved community. Her ministry is rooted in the conviction that the gospel calls us into deep belonging, healing, and courageous love across difference. She has written for The Foundry Publishing and is a co-author of Born the King, an Advent devotional.
Christine is completing her Doctor of Ministry at Nazarene Theological Seminary. Her doctoral work, A Wesleyan Neurotheology of Belonging: Trauma-Informed Holiness and the Formation of Beloved Community, explores the intersection of faith, neuroscience, and Wesleyan theology for the flourishing of leaders and communities shaped by trauma and marginalization. She serves on several denominational advisory bodies and finds joy in her husband, Albert, their four children, and life-giving practices that include shared meals, hiking, board games, and the occasional donut.
