In 2016, CCDA leadership initiated an internal transformation process as part of a commitment to make the organization a great place to work. The first step was to align CCDA’s values and decision-making processes. CCDA’s management team members each took the lead for one core value to assure that they were upheld throughout all work. The organization immediately adopted these values and began to share the following with the CCDA board and all staff:

∙ Accountable to High Standards
∙ Foster Environment of Team Trust and Respect
∙ Commitment to Diversity
The CCDA Board established a Human Resource Committee to revise polices and procedures including adding a 90-day performance review program for new employees and annual performance reviews for all. Management also began administering an annual employee opinion survey to gauge the organization’s progress and gain ongoing insight as to the quality of CCDA’s work environment. For the purpose of transparency, financial reports, cash flow projections, and key performance indicators were instituted and are reviewed with the Finance Committee on a monthly basis.
CCDA transitioned to a remote office model work environment. Today CCDA staff is located across the country. This move has not only opened up work opportunities for members and others regardless of their geographic location, but it also has enabled the organization to have closer connection to members on the ground. This move was especially important for the CCDA membership as the organization is now placing a greater emphasis on establishing Local Networks for members in their communities.

The organization is already seeing the results of the many internal restructuring and transformation changes. It has grown from an organization of about 270 active members, to more than 1,500 active members in just the past two years.
The CCDA board appreciates the input that has been shared from past and current employees and volunteers as we set a stage for future growth to serve more communities.
