Description
Often Civic Engagement Centers endorse goals to improve communities through community-based research, experiential learning opportunities, or investing in neighborhood revitalization. The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) at North Park University was developed as a response to traditional community outreach or shared values frameworks (Ehlenz, 2017). The CCE adopts a purposeful goal of redistribution and promotion of community partners, particularly those led by local leaders of color. This workshop will create discussion around models of Civic Engagement Centers while proposing a novel model grounded in biblical justice. Practical tips based on the successful implementation of a Community Assets Cohort will be highlighted
