Young & Dumb: Breaking Barriers of Bias Against Youth

$5.00

2018 CCDA National Conference — Chicago Workshop

Young & Dumb: Breaking Barriers of Bias Against Youth — Joni “Johnny” Brandyberry & Kimberlee “K-lee” Johnson

Adults sometimes unwittingly make negative assumptions about youth capacity to serve. These assumptions can limit youth levels of participation in community leadership. Come learn how these assumptions limit leadership development and reinforce implicit bias. Engage in fun but challenging reflection exercises designed to encourage youth workers to think about ways to empower youth. Leave this workshop with tools for identifying, appreciating, and utilizing the gifts of youth in their ministries.
