Talking about Race Across Generations for our Collective Wellbeing

$5.00

This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn about why conversations about race necessitate storytelling, empathy, and relationships from within and outside of the communities represented.

Categories: 2022 Conference, Free For Members
  • Description

Description

Having conversations about race, culture, biases, and immigration within communities is difficult. Especially as the nation has experienced heightened racialized tragedies and injustices. This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn about why conversations about race necessitate storytelling, empathy, and relationships from within and outside of the communities represented. Workshop participants will learn about: demographic shifts in the US, the importance of history, debunking myths of racial stereotypes, the importance of talking about this with young people, hosting safe spaces for intergenerational conversations, and practical steps for how to facilitate learning and sharing for our social wellbeing.
