Rooted in Resilience: Healing Trauma Using Congregational & Community Strengths

$5.00

2018 CCDA National Conference — Chicago Workshop

Rooted in Resilience: Healing Trauma Using Congregational & Community Strengths — Laura Beach Byrch & Crystal Imes

Whether we realize it or not, our communities and churches are all touched by trauma and toxic stress, often stemming from root causes of poverty, incarceration, racism, broken immigration policies, and other systemic sins. Yet, these same communities and churches are sources of healing and resiliency, rooted in our faith and our connections to people, places, identity and history. Explore practical tools for congregational leaders and community practitioners to be more trauma-informed. Facilitators will highlight and build on resiliency found through engaging Scripture, nurturing supportive relationships, and rooting ourselves in stories of our people, place, and legacy.
