Description
This workshop explores how restorative justice appears in surprising places across pop culture—film, TV, books, and music—despite a dominant cultural narrative of punishment, control, and violence. By contrasting retributive storylines (like police-centered and superhero narratives) with restorative examples (such as Ted Lasso, Just Mercy, and other redemptive moments), participants learn to recognize how media shapes our responses to harm. Designed especially for Christians, the session offers humor, concrete examples, and practical tools to help households critically process violent messaging while noticing, valuing, and applying restorative frameworks in everyday life.
