Intimate Partner Violence: Holding Space, Moving Forward

$5.00

2019 CCDA National Conference — Dallas Workshop

Intimate Partner Violence: Holding Space, Moving Forward –Elsa Gumm

In this workshop, participants will talk with an experienced advocate and examine the role of faith communities in addressing the public health crisis of intimate partner violence. A survivor faces many barriers when choosing to disclose abuse. Often, their faith community is one of the first places they turn to for support. It is imperative that faith leaders are prepared to provide spaces of safety and liberation, where victims of violence are empowered rather than reproached. Interactive learning and ample discussion time will equip participants with concrete action steps for compassionately supporting survivors in their local contexts.
