How Churches Can Drive Gentrification

$5.00

2019 CCDA National Conference — Dallas Workshop

How Churches Can Drive Gentrification –Dr. Dave Kresta & Dr. Sean Benesh

Church leaders want to have a positive community impact, but recent research raises red flags including findings that in some cases churches may be increasing gentrification! This workshop will provide insight into the many factors driving neighborhood change and the role of churches as neighborhood actors that impact not only individuals, but social processes as well. Dr. Kresta will share recently completed research on the neighborhood impact of church demographics, social service offerings, and geographic dispersion. Dr. Benesh will discuss a gospel-informed response to gentrification, with practical considerations for churches leaders to take back to their communities.
