Description
Many white individuals express aspirations toward anti-racism, yet struggle to translate these intentions into meaningful action that fosters belonging for all. How can we help white members of our organizations move beyond ideological platitudes to embodied practices that build equitable communities? Building off of last year’s workshop at CCDA, Drs. Paul Hoard (psychology) and Ron Ruthruff (theology) will guide participants into identifying the psychological and theological factors that often inhibit white individuals’ ability to sustain anti-racist action. How can we start to lean into uncomfortable realities rather than protect our self-made images? Through interactive discussion and practicing with one another, participants will explore policies and rituals that cultivate equity and inclusion in churches, schools, and agencies. This session will equip leaders with strategies to move their organizations toward credible, community-rooted anti-racist practice.
