Exploring Effective Trauma-Informed Responses to Violence

$5.00

2018 CCDA National Conference — Chicago Workshop

Exploring Effective Trauma-Informed Responses to Violence — Heather Beaudoin & Lionel LaTouche

People harmed by crime and violence deserve better access to trauma care. A trauma-responsive justice system requires all parties to interrogate and dismantle systems of mass incarceration and racial injustice; while simultaneously addressing the issue of violence. This workshop will explore EJUSA’s pilot project, “From Trauma to Trust, Police Community Collaborative Training”, which brings police and community members together to prevent trauma and bridge the divide that often exists. Gain how an understanding of trauma-informed violence prevention work that is firmly rooted in public health and racial justice, can have a lasting impact.
