Community, Practitioner-based Reparations for Societal Well Being

$5.00

Societal wellbeing needs structural and social change. As a matter of our Christian faith and witness we must do whatever is necessary to repair the sins of the past, to come together across racial, religious, economic and political divides, and to bring our shared convictions to the public square ensuring that the work of repair becomes reality.

Description

Societal wellbeing needs structural and social change. As a matter of our Christian faith and witness we must do whatever is necessary to repair the sins of the past, to come together across racial, religious, economic and political divides, and to bring our shared convictions to the public square ensuring that the work of repair becomes reality. While we work to impact government leadership & support reparations legislation, this workshop introduces its participants to current, national reparations efforts as well as on-going community repair work in Chicago and the Pacific Northwest. These two practitioner-driven case studies will provide an effective framework for participants to understand the application of repair by building economic and social capital in the church/denomination context, black entrepreneurship and community generated wealth-building investments.
