About Rev. Dr. Edith Robinson-Davis
Rev. Dr. Edith Marie Robinson-Davis is an educator, community development practitioner, and ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Her ministry brings together pastoral care, spiritual formation, leadership development, and a commitment to serving God’s people.
As founder and CEO of New City Resources in Jackson, Michigan, Edith led the nonprofit for 16 years. Its programs included after-school tutoring, summer day camps, and summer work opportunities for children, youth, and adults. She built partnerships with churches, businesses, community agencies, foundations, and Spring Arbor University to support learning and develop local leaders. New City Resources also hosted the National Youth CCDA Conference in Jackson.
A former CCDA board member, Edith has facilitated conference workshops on strategic planning, women in leadership, and youth leadership development. She also helped organize a conference in Wilmington, North Carolina, featuring Dr. John M. Perkins, whose prophetic witness continues to shape her understanding of faithful service.
Edith’s pastoral leadership spans Michigan and North Carolina, including service with rural AME Zion congregations. She has equipped clergy and lay leaders, strengthened community partnerships, and helped churches address needs in finance, technology, and ministry planning.
Her educational work includes teaching at Spring Arbor University and expanding access to college learning for incarcerated adults. She holds a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, a Master of Education from Michigan State University, and a doctorate from Cornerstone Christian College. Certified in spiritual direction, Edith approaches leadership as a privilege and calling, grounded in humility, compassion, and trust in God.
