Vocational Training Instructor

Overview:

Due to high unemployment and limited access to vocational education, Mauritania needs skilled professionals to teach trades such as carpentry, electricity, mechanics, and agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

• Train youth and adults in hands-on vocational skills.
• Develop simple, scalable training programs for sustainable employment.
• Work on prison-based vocational training, teaching gardening, hydroponics, and solar energy installation.
• Help young people gain economic independence to reduce vulnerability to crime.

Requirements

• Experience in vocational education or skilled trades.
• Ability to teach practical skills and mentor students.
• Understanding of basic economic development and workforce integration.
• Knowledge of French (can initially work through a translator)
