Reclaim Dignity + Hope + Life
College students pursuing careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical technology, rehabilitation engineering, assistive technology, and related fields such as nursing and pre-med are invited to apply for an internship in Guatemala with Reclaim’s Christian community development team. This internship offers meaningful learning opportunities as interns serve alongside Reclaim’s Disability Care program, particularly in wheelchair fitting and distribution efforts in San Lucas, Sacatepéquez, and surrounding communities. Interns will gain exposure to community-based rehabilitation approaches while witnessing God’s transformative work in restoring dignity and hope to families with children with disabilities. In addition to technical and programmatic learning, interns will build relationships with families, offer encouragement, and participate in holistic care that reflects Christ’s love. Additionally, cultural and language learning—such as visiting historical sites, engaging with local communities, or practicing Spanish—are available and will be primarily self-directed and initiated independently by interns during their time in Guatemala. Overall, the internship is designed to foster professional development, deepen cross-cultural understanding, and encourage spiritual growth—equipping students to engage future careers with greater compassion, purpose, and global perspective.
