Psalm 1 encourages us to be as trees planted by streams of water because they yield their fruit in season, and their leaves do not wither. Enid Almanzar reminds us that these benefits are conditional on the tree being rooted near living water and not toxic and tainted water. Similarly, as CCD practitioners we must be intentional about rooting both our work and ourselves in the living water that is God.  Otherwise, we too, may become toxic and tainted.

Rev. Enid M. Almanzar is the Director of Metro Ministry Mobilization at American Bible Society, a historic non-profit with scripture engagement efforts in over 145 nations. By providing strategic oversight in the development of contextually relevant resources for urban communities, Rev. Almanzar works alongside thousands of churches and ministries with a specific focus on the metro areas of New York and Phoenix as well as national leadership to portfolios with the Roman Catholic and Hispanic communities. Rev. Almanzar was a key contributor to the groundbreaking breaking research study with the Barna Group, Hispanic America: Faith, Values and Priorities, and has been the architect of several national initiatives focused on underserved populations with partners such as The Salvation Army, Prison Fellowship, Esperanza and the Luis Palau Association.
