Description
Drawing from the insights of the prophets of the Old Testament, attendees will learn how to strengthen and sustain their faith practices for the long arc of resistance work. Establishing a community-based context of public theology and engagement, practitioners will learn how to organize and mobilize their communities for systemic impact with tools for faith-rooted organizing and activism through current case studies of racial injustice. Adapting the issues for practical, prophetic, and effective strategic engagement at the local, state, and federal levels, this workshop will afford practitioners the opportunity to learn and practice strategies and tactics for sustained, effective faith-rooted, public square engagement, including how to run for office.
