Description
Thank you for joining CCDA communities across the country as we work together to support students’ education equity through church-based partnerships!
Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) practitioners believe that all people are created in the image of God and have gifts and abilities that should be developed to their fullest potential in order to advance God’s kingdom. We believe that all students, regardless of their community or zip code, should have access to an education system that helps support their individual and community flourishing. CCDA practitioners share a philosophy of ministry that center’s the poor and envisions communities (w)holistically restored with Christians fully engaged in the process of transformation. Our mission is to inspire, train, and connect Christians who seek to bear witness to the Kingdom of God by reclaiming and restoring under-resourced communities. We live this shared set of values through the 8 Key Components of Christian Community Development.
Together we want to support the (w)holistic education of each student and as an association, we want to better equip and strengthen each person who joins this collective effort of bringing about community transformation. This partnership guide is just one step to help achieve this goal. In this guide, we have used our association’s 8 principles of Christian Community Development ministry to structure our learning, applying each principle through the lens of education equity.
The format is to use personal stories from CCDA Practitioners to help set a personal stage, a centering prayer, a description of each principle housed within the story’s context, and then practical next steps for engagement. Our hope is that together we can better serve students through each stage and development of the education process. We know that this work is important. We know that this work needs many hands. We want to do this together. We invite you to join us.
