Staff Position & Description
Position: Children’s Coordinator K-4th Grade
Employee Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Family & Youth Ministries
Reports To: Director of Family & Youth Ministries and Children’s Pastor
Job Statement: Plan and coordinate all After-School program classroom and extracurricular activities during the school year. Plan and coordinate all facets of Summer KIDS Camp throughout the year.
Duties:
· Work with the Children’s Pastor to lead, plan, and organize all facets of the Summer KIDS camp and After-School Program.
· Coordinate ordering and organizing appropriate supplies for the After-School Program and Summer KIDS Camp programs, including ordering curriculum, testing supplies, and all classroom materials during the year.
· Assist the Children’s Pastor in planning for the appropriate curriculum for the After-School Program and Summer KIDS Camp programs.
· Provide tutoring and organize learning activities as appropriate for the After-School program.
· Implement discipline policies set up for children in both programs.
· Help recruit and provide spiritual leadership and support for Summer KIDS Camp teachers, interns, and volunteers.
· Coordinate the summer feeding program as directed by the Director of Family and Youth Ministries and Children’s Pastor.
· Be proficient in keeping records and organizing office documents for both programs, including keeping attendance stats in our database.
· Assist the Children’s Pastor and Creative Arts Coordinator in implementing extracurricular activities, including black box time, craft times, Christmas Program, dance, drama, recreation, and field trips.
· Be in contact with volunteer groups, assisting with orientations and coordinating with group leaders about logistics, scheduling, and clean up.
· If needed, be able to prepare and teach Bible studies, including extra activities.
· Attend Mission meetings and functions.
· Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prefer enrollment or graduate in a bachelor’s or equivalent program.
Two years experience with children, preferably some experience with urban ministries.
Have letters of recommendation or references accrediting to personal character.
Have a valid driver’s license.
