JOB TITLE: Director of Friendship House FT X PT__ # of weekly hrs___
SUMMARY: Director – Friendship House provides overall leadership and vision for Friendship House, the relief ministry of First Baptist Church of Garland
REPORTS TO: Associate Pastor – Missions Mobilization
MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A devoted follower of Jesus. Member of First Baptist Garland. In agreement with the theological positions of FBC Garland. High school and some college required, college degree and/or seminary preferred. Ability to speak Spanish a plus but not required. Professional experience in a ministry similar to Friendship House. Practices a collaborative leadership style and encourages a culture of collaboration. Strong communicator publicly and personally. Excellent interpersonal skills with people of all ages and races. Financially responsible and administratively capable. Compassionate with a high value on service. Stays informed of the needs of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse communities and leads Friendship House to address those needs. Principled, yet flexible. Life-long learner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Recruits fund raising team and sets annual fund-raising goals
Market Friendship House to First Baptist, and the community.
Prepare periodic reports about Friendship House to First Baptist, financially supportive groups, and other interested parties.
Provide direction for purchases of food and other needed ministry items
Affirms current volunteers and recruits new volunteers.
Encourages a culture of evangelism and discipleship
Hire and supervise paid staff.
Maintains oversight of Friendship House expenditures.
Reports to Friendship House Board regularly.
Submits annual budget to Friendship House board.
Works diligently to create a sense of community among FH volunteers.
Oversee the care and upkeep of Friendship House facility.
Networks with other community leaders and ministries.
Meets regularly with Associate Pastor/Missions Mobilization for prayer, planning & review.
Supervises paid and volunteer staff with the goal of bringing out the best in them.
Additional
Recruit and oversee work/mission groups at Friendship House.
Lead Friendship House to add ministries as needed.
Stay abreast of changes in technology that could benefit Friendship House.
Partner with other ministry organizations to offer additional ministry.
Seek input from experienced leaders on development opportunities.
Other duties assigned by Supervisor.
