Primary Purpose: To lead, shepherd, and administrate the worship ministry of Madison Church: South Hill Campus.
Hours: 15 hours per week
Accountable to: South Hill Campus Pastor
Education/ Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant fields
Higher education in relevant field (preferred)
Skilled piano or guitar player, and/or skilled vocalist (one or both preferred)

Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and lead multicultural and multigenerational volunteer teams—spanning worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, tech, visual arts, drama, and dance—by aligning their unique contributions under a shared vision for creative, spiritually enriching, and culturally inclusive worship.
Meet regularly with volunteer leaders (individually and/or collectively) to collaborate, train, and develop relationships
Lead in worship 2 times per month, in addition to key church calendar services, and be present to serve, support and provide feedback to teams on non-platform weeks.
Lead (or attend) weekly rehearsals with worship teams to provide accountability, feedback and support to worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists
Works with staff and volunteer leaders, including the South Hill team, to create multiethnic, multiracial, intergenerational, and multisensory worship, intentionally including children in gathered worship.
Steward worship department resources, from maintaining equipment and supplies to tracking and managing the annual budget.
Partner with staff across South Hill Campus and all Madison Church sites to shape a growing, mission-aligned worship culture, ensuring alignment with the church’s shared vision, mission, and values.
Pray fervently with and for the worship ministry, and collaborate with prayer teams

- Demonstrates spiritual maturity through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by love for the Church and commitment to ongoing discipleship.
- Affirms and supports Madison Church’s Mission, Vision, Beliefs, and Shared Values, and is comfortable serving within a Reformed theological framework.
- Strong musical ability, with a desire to lead others to God through worship
- Strong relational skills with a heart for community building
- Eager to lean in, stretch and grow themselves and others in discipleship, anti-racism, multicultural worship and the arts
- Visionary and detail-oriented leader with high emotional intelligence
- Advocate of arts in worship and of multicultural, multi-generational worship leadership
- Proficient in a variety of genres of music, and open to learning/facilitating unfamiliar ones
- Flexible, collaborative, and proactive in a team environment
- Proven administrative gifts
- Ability to use/learn computer software (Planning Center, ProPresenter, Multitracks)
