The CCDA Intensive is designed to equip emerging grassroots community developers, youth workers, pastors, lay leaders, and students in the philosophy of Christian Community Development. It is available to CCDA members and like-minded Christian leaders in cities across our nation and provides the theological and practical training needed to effectively put into practice the philosophy of Christian Community Development. Intensives are taught by seasoned CCD Practitioners with significant community development expertise, who are also trained to facilitate our CCD curriculum. The CCDA Intensive is geared to help local & regional leaders, their staff and volunteers take their ministry to the next level of effectiveness through challenging and practical training sessions that aim to serve groups of up to 100+ students per class.
Intensives are generally a one day event, usually Saturdays, from about 8:00am to 4:00 pm and require a minimum of 6 hours of active teaching, featuring an overview of the CCD philosophy with an emphasis on Listening to the Community and Empowerment. CCDA will send two trained facilitators to teach an overview of the Eight Principles of Christian Community Development:
