Rethink Poverty
The Chalmers Center is looking for a Support Specialist to join our U.S. Programs team. Could this be you?
A little about us. We love Jesus and His people, and we are passionate about providing knowledge and good tools to help the American church fight the injustice of poverty. In a highly divided season of our country, the U.S. Programs team strives to be bridge-builders between marginalized communities and the church. We are honest about the issues and we get to work with some of the most incredible believers.
As dynamic and fiery as our mission is, a lot of what we do looks like sitting behind computer screens. We manage a full calendar of online training events and post-training support opportunities for ministries all across the country using our Work Life and Faith & Finances materials. It matters to us that these ministry leaders and volunteers have a positive user experience with our learning platforms and other interfaces, so we are always listening and improving.
Our team needs someone who is structured enough to manage an orderly calendar and the Salesforce processes that accompany the trainings, flexible enough to interact patiently with trainers, partners, and customers when their needs arise, tech-savvy enough to keep the systems running and not intimidated to learn some new platforms.
An average month on this team might look like contracting with trainers to start a new online session as well as wrapping up the records for a training that just ended. You could be preparing reports on data for the last quarter while troubleshooting and answering questions for active sites who are trying to access their resources. You might be helping us host a promotional town hall meeting by Zoom as well as working with a cross-team internal committee on Chalmers project. We need a Support Specialist who can provide consistency even though the days aren’t always predictable.
We spend a lot of time on Zoom calls connecting with people far away, but we enjoy laughter and eating together whenever possible. We share our lives and do hard things while clinging to hope. Could this be a fit for you and for us? If you believe so, please complete the application at: https://chalmers.org/careers/ and include a cover letter explaining why you have the right wiring and experience for this role.
