Hope for New York (HFNY) mobilizes volunteer and financial resources to organizations serving the poor and marginalized in New York City. Our vision is a city in which individuals and communities experience spiritual, personal, social and economic well-being through the demonstration of Christ’s love.
HFNY focuses on expanding and deepening partnerships with faith-based nonprofits in NYC (our affiliates) through financial support, volunteer mobilization, capacity building, and collaborative networks. These efforts resource and strengthen HFNY’s affiliates with the goal that they are thriving and effective, as measured by incorporation of nonprofit best practices, so that the greatest number of the poor and marginalized in NYC can experience holistic flourishing.
ABOUT THE ROLE
HFNY seeks a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual to bring our data management, analytics, and impact measurement and reporting to a new level of excellence and optimize the way our teams work. The Senior Manager, Systems and Impact reports to the Vice President, Operations and will: 1) manage and administer current data systems and data management, 2) lead the organization in reporting, dashboards, and analytics, and 3) be responsible for organizational impact measurement and reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems Administration and Data Management
- Develop strategies and implement systems that optimize our work internally and externally
- Serve as internal project lead and administrator for enterprise data systems – Salesforce, Pardot, Drupal, and future systems
- Manage HFNY’s Grants Management System, Volunteer Management System, CRM, and donor database through Salesforce
- Create and update fields, objects, reports, page layouts, workflows, processes (using Process Builder and Flow Builder), and other Salesforce components
- Maintain strong relationships with teams to understand needs and map out processes and structures; manage expectations around roadmap for different systems
- Work with teams to identify bugs and enhancements to HFNY data systems
- Ensure best practices around permissions, security, and compliance are implemented
- Manage relationship with Information Services (IS) vendor
- Manage relationships with third-party consultants and developer
- Maintain comprehensive product and project documentation
- Develop effective training materials and deliver trainings to teams to build capacity
- Onboard and offboard new and terminating employees from business systems
- Implement organizational data management strategy and support teams in data management best practices (i.e., data entry/maintenance best practices, data hygiene, record deduplication)
Reporting and Analytics
- Drive analytics and reporting for individual staff and team
- Create and maintain team and organizational dashboards
- Prepare ad-hoc reports, analyses and presentations
Impact and Outcomes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and leadership on using data and analysis to understand HFNY’s progress toward its goals
- Collaborate with internal teams to answer strategic research questions and provide support to help staff in designing outcomes measurement plans
- Help set and monitor organizational performance against Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
- Work across all HFNY teams to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Work with the Program Team to identify key insights from our programs, and actively disseminate results and lessons to other staff, community partners, and the field
- Support the Program Team in developing a measurement approach to our program model
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep commitment to serving the poor and marginalized
- Identify with the Christian faith and attend a local church
- 6+ years of work experience with at least 2 years of operations, database management, data analysis, and/or CRM experience
- Salesforce experience required
- Familiarity with data management, processing, and analysis
- Experience creating and managing organization-wide data management policies and processes
- Proven administration and time-management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast-paced setting with keen attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
- Strong project management skills; able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Able to take an idea from concept to completion
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while maintaining discretion, tact, and diplomacy
- Self-starter, quick learner, hard worker; able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Thrives under pressure, remains calm and takes on difficult challenges
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Flexible and adaptable; open to feedback and improvement with positive and humble attitude
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Asana preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
