Lodging

Out-of-town conference attendees must arrange their own lodging during the event. There are several lodging options:

The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is the primary venue for the 2013 National Conference. CCDA has a block of rooms at the discounted rate of $125 per night (king and double/double rooms). Individuals and groups may make reservations online via the link below. Note: the deadline to reserve a room is August 26. The hotel will not guarantee the discounted conference rate after that day.

Alternate Housing provides lodging options for conference attendees at a more economical rate. Alternate housing options include various ministries in New Orleans who have developed lodging for volunteer groups who have helped with Hurricane Katrina recovery.

Transportation

Conference attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the event. CCDA will not provide transportation for any part of the conference, except where stated.

Flying
Those flying in from out of town will be arriving at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The airport is 15 miles from the Hyatt Regency Hotel New Orleans.

Public Transit
The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) Bus picks up outside airport Entrance #7 on the upper level. The fare for Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) is $2.00. The fare boxes will accept $1, $5, $10, $20 dollar bills and all U.S. coins. The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) provides service from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive into New Orleans, which takes approximately 35 minutes. The Airport bus stop is on the second level of the Airport in the outer lanes at Door 7. Airport Shuttle
Shuttle service is available from the airport to the hotels in the CBD for $20.00 (per person, one-way) or $38.00 (per person, round-trip). Limit three bags per person. Call 1-866-596-2699 or (504) 522-3500 for more details or to make a reservation. Advance reservations are required 48 hours prior to travel for all ADA accessible transfers. Please call in advance of your travel date for the specially equipped shuttle to be reserved. For group reservations of 50 or more people please dial 1-866-596-2699. Ticket booths are located on the lower level in the baggage claim area. For more information visit www.airportshuttleneworleans.com.

Taxicabs
A cab ride costs $33.00 from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) for one or two persons and $14.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. Taxis are required to offer a credit card payment option.

Automobile Rental
There are 9 rental agencies with offices on the lower level of the airport. Check with each company for rates. Click here to view rental car company contact information.

Driving & Parking
Need to find affordable parking during the conference? Check out Parking Panda for available parking near the Hyatt. Parking Panda allows you to pre-purchase parking for the days you need it. There are several affordable options within a few blocks of the hotel. If you need to park a big van or a bus, contact our Host Team head of transportation, Jarvain Bingmon at jarvain@aol.com.

Amtrak
Union Station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue in New Orleans – just two blocks from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Note: Amtrak does not provide transportation to or from the airport. For more information visit www.amtrak.com.

Greyhound Bus
The Greyhound Downtown Bus Station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, 70113 – just two blocks from the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
