Program Overview

CCDA’s National Conference is packed with activities. To give you a better understanding of the various elements of the program, we have written a brief description for each, below. View the full schedule (above).

Bible Study with Dr. John Perkins and Wayne “Coach” Gordon

Learn from Dr. Perkins and Coach as they share from the Word each morning. Thursday through Saturday, 8:30am – 9:30amWatch videos of Dr. Perkins’ Bible studies at the CCDA National Conference and check out his books.

Plenary Sessions

Morning and evening plenary sessions are sure to inspire and challenge you while providing plenty of fodder for discussion. All sessions include a time of worship through music and artistic expression. Evening sessions are free and open to the public. Morning Plenary: Thursday through Saturday, 9:30am – 11:30am & Evening Plenary: Wednesday through Saturday, 7:00pm – 9:00pm. View the Plenary Speakers.

Workshops

Christian Community Development (CCD) leaders and practitioners teach workshops to share wisdom they’ve gained from their experiences working on the front lines of ministry. Presenters will teach a variety of topics providing opportunity for interactive learning. Thursday through Saturday, 1:30pm – 4:30pm. View Workshop Schedule..

Go & See Tours and Workshops

Go out into New Orleans to see the work of local CCD practitioners. Each day offers an all-afternoon trip to a local CCD ministry– learn from their stories, models, and communities. Fellowship with fellow attendees and community residents over lunch. Thursday through Saturday, 12:00pm – 5:30pm. View all Go & See Tours and Workshops.

Pre-Conference

Several classes will be offered pre-conference for in-depth study of various CCD-related topics. In addition, seminary and graduate students will have the opportunity to take a Christian Community Development course for credit. View all Pre-Conference Institute Classes.

Show up for the Evening Plenary early (at 6:43 PM) for an inspiring artistic presentation. Each night we will feature local talent for a 20 minute pre-concert or dance performance.

Stage II

Introducing Stage II: CCDA’s newest creation endeavoring to fulfill our mission to inspire, train, and connect. Stage II is a rebranding of our exhibit hall and new offerings at this year’s conference. Stage II will feature live music, readings, Q & A with CCDA leaders, exhibits and an art gallery. If this doesn’t give you enough reason to visit, there will be Humphrey’s Street Coffee and food options available. View all Stage II offerings.

Evening Fun

The party doesn’t stop after the evening plenary. Finish each day by attending fun events such as the CCDA Justice Film Festival, a First-Timers Party, an Open Mic Night, and Salsa Dancing!
