In 2006, several CCDA pioneers faced up to a hard reality. Although they had individually mentored scores of young people over their 25+ years in CCD ministry, they hadn’t developed a program to pass their knowledge on to younger generations. This realization gave birth to the first National Student Leadership Intensive (NSLI) in Miami 2008 where over 80 young leaders participated.
Now, every year during the CCDA National Conference, young people (15-19 years old) come together for a two-day experience, where they are empowered by a generation of seasoned mentors to be agents of change in their communities. Youth spend time with Dr. John Perkins and other leaders. They participate in experiential learning times. They worship and pray. And, most importantly, they become part of a nationwide cohort of like-minded young people.
The National Student Leadership Intensive (NSLI) is an event within the CCDA National Conference designed specifically for student leaders. This Intensive promises to engage, equip and encourage high school and college students to have a deeper understanding of Christian Community Development and leave ready to take action!
