When: Thursday, Sept. 25, noon to 5:00pm
In 2012, Habitat Wake was approached by a local church in Wake Forest regarding the revitalization of the Northeast End Quadrant. With the help of long-time residents and churches, Habitat helped form the Community of Hope Partners. Since its creation, stakeholders have completed home repair projects, started a literacy program, graduated its first employment class, and begun building new houses.
Learn how Hope Partners got started, see completed projects, and hear stakeholder’s dreams. Habitat Wake is part of the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative movement within Habitat for Humanity to reclaim its initial vision of building community as well as homes.
* Lunch will be provided.
Habitat for Humanity of Wake County builds safe, affordable houses for qualified homebuyers regardless of race, religion or background. Each Habitat home is built in partnership with homeowner families, sponsors, and volunteers. Our houses are safe, decent, affordable homes which are sold for no profit to the partner family who repays an affordable mortgage over 20 years. Homeowners attend a series of workshops on financial literacy and home maintenance so they are well prepared to be homeowners. At Habitat for Humanity, our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
