The Christian Community Development Association’s Theological Committee is pleased to announce its 4th annual Theological Journal to be released at the 2015 National Conference in Memphis. The purpose of the Theological Journal is to unite community developers, ministries, and scholars through theological reflection on issues relevant to CCD, focusing specifically on the theme of the National Conference. This year’s theme, Illuminate, is based on the scriptural text in Matthew 5:14-16. Like the city on a hill, we embody the light of Christ, illuminating the darkness, exposing injustice and shining light on the movement of God’s kingdom, bringing one another into the radiant light of transformation.
We encourage all pastors, practitioners, and scholars with interest and experience in CCD and the conference theme to submit a one-page paper abstract for the Theological Journal. We particularly encourage you to choose from one of the following topics:
- Biblical exegesis of Matthew 5:14-16
- Theological reflections upon the conference theme, and/or Scripture
- CCD best practices from your ministry context best practices for transforming communities in the face of injustice.
Papers should be between 6 and 12 pages using Turabian, footnotes. Please send a one-page abstract to Bethany Harris at email@example.com by March 3, 2015. Participants will be informed about the status of paper proposals by March 20, 2015. The deadline for final papers is May 8, 2015.
